As part of the Capitoline Museums, the collection of antiquities in the Centrale Montemartini is one of the most interesting destinations of our museum tours: due to lack of space in the Capitoline Museums, in 1997 an exhibition entitled “The Machines” was opened in the premises of the Centrale Montemartini, the oldest power station in Rome the gods “realized: ancient statues in the midst of modern technology. What was planned as a temporary project became, in the following years, the planning implementation of a museum in which classical and industrial archeology are impressively juxtaposed.
